Apparently, the scanner driver is only functional if the device is connected to your computer via USB (rather than networked). Is your printer connected to your computer by USB?

I have a canon imagerunner 1330 and my windows 7 is not recognizing the printer. On another printer, I found a patch and it worked, but I have not been able to locate the patch for this printer.
Although the 'Quick Start Manual' for your printer says that the CD includes a scanner driver, for some reason, there is no scanner driver listed on the driver download page for this product. Do you have the CD that came with the printer?

This may have been installed as part of either the printer driver or the 'iR Toolbox' program. On your computer, click Start and type iR Toolbox into the Search menu: was something found?

You can also see if Windows itself recognizes your scanner. Open Windows Fax and Scan:
